After placing my order on Sunday evening I was able to track the progress of my Sky Broadband and Sky Talk order.
After the order was accepted on Monday (and receiving my MAC Code from O2), the Order Tracking in My Sky started asking me for my MAC Code, popped it in and hit submit and was presented with a "Thank You, Your MAC Code has been successfully validated. Please check back in around 24 hours to check the progress of your Broadband order".
So I checked again Tuesday, and was prompted to enter my MAC Code again. So I popped it in again and received the same Successful message I received on Monday.
Checked again on the Wednesday to find it once again requesting a MAC Code, so I just left it lol. After seeing today that it was still asking for a code I've decided to call Sky.
Now hopefully this is of use to some of the other new customers experiencing a similar problem.
The explanation provided to me is that because I've placed a landline order in at the same time as the broadband one, their system's have started throwing a wobbler. It seems that because my landline migration is in progress with an activation date of 7th September, my Broadband order is unable to progress because I have to wait for the landline to migrate over before the MAC code will be accepted.
So I've been told to try my MAC Code again after my landline activation date, and then my Broadband order *should* progress and complete soon after.
To me this makes sense (to be honest the nice lady did a better job of explaining it than I have here) however I'm sure someone will come around and say this is complete and utter crap and not to believe a word of it. So until then I'm believing it!

Order Tracking keeps requesting MAC Code

Farewell O2
22 August 2011 - 21:11
Well as of this evening I have started the migration process to move over to Sky. An evening of no internet and constant resyncing was the final nail in the coffin to a provider I lost my faith with when they bumped up the prices and introduced the new packages.
Tomorrow morning I shall be requesting my Mac code to provide to Sky to get the migration completed asap.
I could say it's been a pleasure O2, but with the way you've been treating customers lately I'll hold that back!
Maybe when you become a bit more reasonable I'll consider coming back, but to be honest there's probably more chance of flying pigs or hell freezing over!

Exchange Rollout Schedule
19 August 2011 - 22:24
Anyone know where I can find this supposed 1,300 exchanges strong rollout schedule, for what I can only assume is either BT Infinity or 21CN/WBC that seems to be doing the rounds on various sites at the moment.
I can seem to find news articles about this supposed list, but no actual schedule!

Mac Version?
18 August 2011 - 17:04
Spencer may have already suggested this, but have you thought of developing a Mac version of JD's Auto Speedtester?
You could also stick it in the Mac App Store for a bit of exposure, and may be able to make a bit of money off it if you charge for it (only a small amount though, say 59p - £1.19)?
Just a thought!

Introducing our new Software Section!
17 August 2011 - 21:29
Just a quick post to inform you all of our brand spanking new Software section of our website. The new section, along with the main website is a lot sleeker and easier to use and makes it much easier for you to find exactly what your looking for!
Hopefully over time we will get to expand our Software Downloads section to cover a wide variety of software relevant to troubleshooting your broadband connection, or other useful apps!
You can check it out now by clicking Software in the main menu!
