We have been advised by our facility operator that the electricity provider needs to perform maintenance work on the 11kv HV network that feeds the Kent Science Park campus during the following maintenance window:

Start: Saturday 13th November 2010 @ 08:00 Hrs GMT
Finish: Saturday 13th November 2010 @ 18:00 Hrs GMT

During this window mains power from the grid will be intermittently switched on and off. We do not expect any impact to service during this maintenance as the onsite UPS & Generator units will continue to supply power during these periods however the facility should be considered at risk due to only having one viable power source.

We will send out an 'all clear' message once we have had confirmation that the window has been successfully completed.

Thx for the forewarning Jimmy06, Im sure it would not be to much of an interruption and anyhow if the upload test cant get through the rest of the testing is still recorded (unlike cancelling the test).

Thx for your time,

Ill be posting any updates reguarding the server here. What would be nice is a stickied locked thread if possible for it :)

I am currently in the process of moving a few of my services around and looking to relocate some services.

This may or maynot effect the future of jdast upload service.

i shall attempt to keep you posted but as of posting this the service is offline due to DNS changes

There was a short outage of the upload server between 21:00 and 22:00 GMT this was caused due to the service moving.

The service is being co-located presently until the pass over full to the new server.

The new server IS a VPS machine but i will be monitoring it closely.

I have been in contact with the VPS provider and if the need arrises I can get provisions on more bandwidth.

Better late then never Uploads between around 23:00 3rd of Feb and 01:00 on 4th of Feb was caused by an unknown issue in Bluesquare datacenter. This was out of my control but full service was restored before 01:00 on the 4th.

Quote

[VS2 & VS3] We are seeing some possible network issues on those nodes. We will update as soon as we know more about this.

Quote

Seems like there is an issue with the BlueSquare data centre that we are hosted in half of our systems are offline, we're awaiting an update

Quote

We now have everything running again, we believe the problems have been resolved at the datacentre, we apologise for the inconvenience.

Update as to a reaason of the outage.

Quote

At 22:54 workmen installing a new water main in the Maidenhead area cut through one of two main HV feed’s supplying BlueSquare House. Utility power dropped to the site, and the generators started as expected. However an electrical interlock fault with the Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) failed to transfer the load to the generator supply. At 23:02 the UPS batteries discharged and the load was dropped to the data floor. After a manual override by our on-site engineers power was restored via the generators and the critical load was recovered. After further testing of the ATS system and interlocks we switched back to full mains supply (via the secondary HV feed) at 01:26. Further diagnostics were carried out on the electrical interlock without any faults found. We plan to carry out further testing and diagnostics of the interlock system over the next 7 days which will be advised in a separate maintenance ticket.

lol, these workmen ! where do they get them from nowadays ehh !

thx for the info although i didnt get any email from the forum , odd.

Iv also got a problem with workmen i believe, my speeds dropped out completely on the 10th of this month and im battling with Enta to try to get it fixed atm. Thing is i had an open reach worker up my pole (LOL) on the 8th just 2 days before it developed the fault, speeds were fine after he finished for 2 days but as i say on the 10th it all went pare shaped.

Thx for your time,
