Does anyone know if O2 have recently implemented Traffic Management on their LLU product?

Reason I ask, is that i'm currently downloading from a reasonably healthy torrent (around 841 Seeds and 1657 Peers), and when the torrent first starts I get full speed, then after like a minute or two it'll plummet down to under 10kbps.

If I stop then start the torrent, I again get full speed before it flying down to snail pace!

If its not O2, does anyone have any idea what could be causing the problem as it isn't just this particular torrent I have the problem with.

Not here yesterday at about the same time.

I started downloading a 2GB torrent at 2336 and it was finished at midnight :P

I had a sustained 1.5MB/s download even though I was only connected to about 4/5 peers.

Hmmm going to bump this topic again as the problem doesn't seem to go away  I don't know what it is as HTTP and Newgroup downloads come down at pretty much full whack

Any pointers as to what it may be?

Is it just torrents...because the upload of segments of files is totally dependant on what the uploading user sets the upload speed to

yer it is just torrents, but it seems to be on all torrents regardless if they're healthy or not, which is what has me confused.

didn't think it would take them long to start TS'ing on LLU. BAD O2 !

Im still quite happy with using VPN but it can only go as fast as the current max dl speed at the time and access is still pretty bad at peek times (although i haven't seen a lot of people complaining on the o2 forums just lately even though its just as bad as its always been ?)

Thx for your time,

I suppose I should have responded sooner lol, O2 aren't traffic shaping LLU, it was my configuration of uTorrent. A started downloading a 14gb torrent on Sunday night which finished on Monday Evening (and thats with my computer being switched off for around 6 hours inbetween) at full speed, so i'm guessing everythings fine!

I was downloading Series 1 - 3 of Doctor Who (not Classic Who), I have it all on DVD, but wanted an electronic copy to have on my htpc and I couldn't be bothered ripping the dvd's lol.

As for FPS's, i'm waiting for Battlefield Bad Company 2 (which should be delivered today) before I start playing them, i'm currently playing Avatar which is a third-person shooter, quite a good game!

I dunno, i suppose im just getting to old nowadays  it just seems to me that after having played a handful of FPS's they all look and feel almost that same. Im currently awaiting Diablo 3 & also waiting for R.U.S.E (RTS) both of which i wish to buy as soon as there released.

When i was young i would really get lost in games and get such enjoyment from almost all of them and they were just stick figures shooting single pixel dots etc, in them days i couldn't afford all the hardware and software i wanted. Now im kinda grown up (lol) i can have almost whatever i want but i find my love affair with games has petered out  o well thus is life. "life - a comedy to those who think, a tragedy to those who feel" .

well im just having a look at a game called Dungeon Siege 2 (was looking for something similar to diablo 2) i know there old but sometimes the oldies are still fun.

Thx for your time,
