Description

The contents of the standard Windows clipboard change as you use it to copy and paste various types of information. But your data isn't stored for a long time - when you turn off the computer or just copy another piece of information, the data is lost.

In most cases, that isn't a problem, but have you ever needed the text you copied 30 minutes or an hour ago? Maybe your computer is acting up and the program you are using hasn't saved the data, or maybe you copied some interesting information from a web page, but got distracted and forgot to paste it where you wanted? Or you may simply want to recall what you were doing on your computer a month or a year ago. There are many cases in which you might want to review your clipboard contents.

Well this is the solution!

At any moment, you can view the clipboard history, copy the necessary item back into the Windows clipboard or paste it into an application. All you have to do is press the "Ctrl+0" key combination.

What Can ClipCatch Do For Me?

* Save a lot of time, day by day
* Enable quick access to recently copied data for reuse
* Help find the data copied a day or a week ago.
* Help with Screen Shots.

Keys :-

ctrl 0 (zero, NOT keypad) = hide/show ClipCatch
ctrl 9 = Quick note, quick note taking, mixing & editing of clips (auto saved to clip list)
ctrl 8 = Screen shot, A little more control than just the "print screen" button
Shift + Ctrl + Up cursor = Scroll back in time through saved clips (main window does not need to be visable)
Shift + Ctrl + Down cursor = Scroll froward in time through saved clips (main window does not need to be visable)
Shift + Ctrl + Right cursor = Allows user a choice of either pasting the file path to a captured picture or the actual picture
Shift + Ctrl + Left cursor = Allows user a choice of either pasting the file path to a captured picture or the actual picture

Thx for your time,

changed the "red" exit button to close the app

it just seemed that the red button should hide the app (same as X close in top right corner, minimize, clicking anything other than clipcatch window, Ctrl 0, pasting and copying with the clipcatch buttons) these all Hide the app.

also thought id mention that with the pictures when you paste a logged pic it does not paste the pic file it pastes the location of the pic file, i found that i very rarely want to paste pic themselves its usually the file location im wanting to paste so thats how it is, you can always click on "open pictures folder" and you can copy paste the actual pic files from there.

added a bit to log file or folder locations if you copy a file or folder u can get to that location quickly if you click the "open file folder" button that will show only if the path of the selected clip log is a valid location.

also a load of script tidy.

im really hoping i dont find any more bugs now, i tested and tested ! the best way is just for me to use it normally i suppose.

about the installer , well its not a problem but its when i embed a .exe into another that Avast AV flags it as a virus (trojan). well i suppose in a way it is a trojan as its a exe hiding in another exe but still is annoying & no way around it if i want to install.

anyhow im petty happy with it now, its doing all that i require :P just the illusive hunt for bugs now.

Thx for your time,

I was using it, until I had to format my pc last night when I tried to be clever.

I'm starting to get to grips with it, and I just need to get it installed again lol, haven't had chance yet installing everything else lol.

Nice app, once i'm used to it on my pc (still in the recopy and paste it lol), i'll probably use it more lol.

Does it work on Win7 btw?

Well, i've recieved my "repaired" hdd back, I tried to be clever by instead of assigning it a drive letter, i'd mount it as a "mount point or folder" (like linux), so I tried to do it as Users hoping it would work and that it'd save me from editing the registry.

It didn't goto plan and ended up goosing my windows installation becuase it couldn't find "Users" lol So i've ended up doing it the way I did it originally, alter the registry to make it point to "D:\Users\" instead of "C:\Users".

lol, what can i say :P , i wake in in cold sweats thinking iv got to do a full install on my main, or even worse iv got a virus thats gone accross the network and iv got to do all of them!! it's not a prob its just all the other stuff that needs installing after then setting it all up back to how i like it all, one day i'll make a windows install disk that has most of my main programs automatically installed, although that would be a big project and i doubt i'll ever get around to it also my os will be out of date soon anyhow.

i backup all my data onto 6 comps continually with a sync prog, i dont have the upload speed to use a remote location :D . what do you do about backups?

I have to be honest, you'd need one hell of a dvd to have that sort of thing lol, let alone the amount of time it would take to make it. It'd be easier to just Ghost/clone it :P

I have a Windows Home Server that I store my backups on. If it was quiet enough I'd have it on 24/7 so I could get full use off of it

VER 1.8

Add ability to hold open the edit window click "lock edit box" to be used as a quick edit area for quick note taking, editing clips before pasting, adding clips together etc.. & then when you click "unlock edit box" it will save this new edit to the captured list for use whenever u need.

also quick screen capture if you press "print screen" keyboard button the pic is saved along with any other pic's you may have copied/cut as a .jpg in the picture folder (be aware what the max pic folder size is set to as if its set to small the pic will be deleted when you copy/cut another pic).

also now keeps a complete log of ALL clips in log files of 100KB each. (when you have set a backup folder) so even when logs are lost due to the "max number of clips" setting they are never completely lost.
