What Do The Lights Mean On Your Netgear DGN1000?

NOTE: Although I no longer work for Orange Broadband, to my understanding, the Siemens 572 routers have been replaced with an unbranded Netgear DGN1000..This was taking place as I was leaving.

Power Light
  • Should be solid green
  • If doesn't come on, ensure connected
  • If Red constantly, call Orange

Ethernet Lights
  • When ethernet connected between computer/laptop and router, light of port will come on
  • When flashing, means activity
  • Off - no connectivity to router via ethernet
  • Connected but slow transfer rates: Router issue, call Orange, replacement.

DSL Light
  • Is the status LED to the right of the 4th ethernet port
  • Flashing - Not in sync, looking for broadband signal
  • RED solid - Call Orange
  • Solid green - Broadband signal to local exchange established

Internet Light
  • Solid Green - Connected to internet
  • Solid Green & Flashing - Connected to internet, traffic going through router
  • Light Off - check username and password. If correct, call Orange
  • Light Solid red - same as above..Basically, call Orange

Wireless Light
  • Wireless light solid - means wireless is active on the router..DOES NOT mean connection is already there wireless!
  • Flashing - means internet traffic over wireless
  • Off - wireless function turned off

WPS Light
  • Very end light
  • If lit up, means connection is being set up
